OBJECTIVE To determine the contents of dencichine in Sanqi (Panax notoginseng) from the different regions, harvest times, commercial grades and different parts of plant. METHODS The contents of dencichine were determined by HPLC. RESULTS The differences of the contents of the extracted dencichine were observed among Sanqi from the different regions, harvest times commercial grades and different parts of plant. CONCLUSION The regions of cultivation, grades , harvest times and different parts of plant are crucial factors for decichine yield.
