Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish the digital fingerprint spectrum(FPS)of tea polyphenols, combining with the determination of major components, as a new mode to evaluate and control the quality of tea polyphenols.METHODS The separation was performed on a C18 column with a methanol-water-0.1% formic acid gradient elution system, the detection wavelength was at 210 nm.RESULTS Thirty-three batches of tea polyphenols samples were analyzed by the HPLC-DAD chromatographic system and FPS was established according to the obtained data. The analytical results of methodologic experiments were favorable. CONCLUSION The FPS of tea polyphenols is accurate and feasible, it reflects the real constitution and inherent quality of samples. The FPS of tea polyphenols is suitable for the quality control. The detection ratio of characteristic peaks in tea polyphenols samples should be above 80%, and the relative area (magnified one hundred times) of caffeine should be lower than five.
