Abstract��
OBJECTIVE: To study the antifebrile,sedative and anticonvulsive effects of Zixuesan recipe in pharmacopeia formulary (pp recipe) and the improved recipe in which the artifitiale musk substitutes the natural musk (im recipe). METHODS: The rat fever model induced by yeast,rabbit fever model induced by typhoparatyphoid vaccine,epielptic mouse model stimulated by strychnine and electric shock mouse,model were used to study antifebrile,anticonvulsive effects of the two recipes respectively.Their sedative effects on normal mouse were investigated as well.Two recipe'santifebril mechanism were studied by testing cAMP and PGE2 levels in blood. RESULTS: Both two recipes showed potent antifebril,anticonvulsive and sedative effects.The in recipe was more potent in inhibiting febrile response and reducing cAMP level in blood. CONCLUSION: The effects of the both recipe appeared to be definite,and the antifebrile effect was improved as the natural musk is replaced by the artifitial one.Therefore,the substitute is feasible.
