Abstract��
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of activating microcirculation and removing blood stasis medicinal herbs-Shen-tong injection on the concentration of endothelin ��ET��and nitric oxide��NO�� in rabbits with acute renal failure��ARF��.METHODS Forty male rabbits were randomly divided into four groups: control group��N����model group��M����shentong injection treated group��T��and Danshen injection treated group��D��. Observe the effects of the injections to renal functional parameters, plasma and renal local endothelin and nitric oxide were measured respectively.RESULTS In Shentong injection treated group, all the renal functional parameters compared with model group were significantly different��all P<0.05��, plasma ET were decreased while NO in creased, the differences were significant in comparison with those in model group. The concentration of renal local ET and NO changes more obvious than that of plasma.CONCLUSIONS Shentong injection have certain effect in protecting kidney function from acute renal failure mainly through influence the changes of ET and NO, especially the content of renal local ET and NO.
