Abstract��
OBJECTIVE To establish a RP-HPLC method for the determination of cetirizine in plasma. METHODS Cetirizine was determined by a reversed-phase ion-paired high-performance liquid chromatography with the detection wavelength at 229 nm.The mobile phase was ACN:0.02 mol��L -1phophate:TEA 50��50��0.15)��containing 0.007 mol��L-1SDS. RESULTS The calibration curve was linear within the concentration range of 10��400 ng��ml-1of cetirizine in plasma.The mean extraction recovery was more than 70% and the relative standard deviations for the within-day and the between-days variation were all less than 5%. CONCLUSION This new method could be used to determine cetirizine in plasma and will be suitable to the pharmacokinetic study of cetirizine.
