Abstract��
The protective effects against the toxicity of cisplath(CDDP)as well as its anti-cancer efficiency were investigated in mice treated with Ge-132. The nephrotoxicity ,hemotoxicityand lethaI toxicity of CDDP were greatly reduced by administration of Ge-132 PO(P<0.01).The protective effects were better than GeO_2,Bi(BSN)and Se(Na_2SeO_3),which have been re-ported a lot previously, The determination of metallothionein(MT ) levels in the liver , kidney,heart andtumour of mice showed that Ge-132 did not induce the synthesis of MT�� So it couldn��tinduce the drug resistance made by MT. Otherwise the antitumor experiments showed that Ge-132 did not affect the efficiency of cell toxicitv of CDDP in vitro andits antitumor effect in vivo(P>0.05).These results suggested that Ge-132 might be a adjuvant of anticancer drugs to im-prove tbetherapeutic index of CDDP.
