Practice and consideration of Peking Union Medical College Hospital aiding Tibet in radiological images

Abstract: Since the startup of the “group type” aid work for Tibet, five groups of radiologists from Peking Union Medical College Hospital have consecutively been sent to work in the Radiology Department of People's Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region (PHTAR), with one-year shift. Because of their continuous work, remarkable changes have been achieved in PHTAR during the past five years in trms of upgrading the equipment and software, training local staff, launching research programs, publishing scientific papers and establishing management system and documentation of working guidelines and regulations. In this paper, all of these efforts and progresses are summarized, and the discussion with suggestion may facilitate the healthcare service in the future.
