Abstract: Human stomach has a unique microbial ecosystem, and the disruption of its homeostasis is closely associated with the development of gastric cancer (GC). Gastric carcinogenesis is correlated with the dysbiosis of gastric mucosal microbiota, which is characterized by the decrease of biologigical diversity and alterations of the composition. The microbiota dysbiosis further induces metabolic disorders and triggers the formation of tumor microenvironment in the stomach which contributes to the development and progression of GC. Exploring the role of gastric micro-ecology in gastric carcinogenesis may provide new insights into the diagnosis and treatment for GC.

Key words: gastric microbiota, gastric cancer, microbiota dysbiosis
